Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
DocuVerse (https://docuverse.tools) is a free online toolkit that provides PDF and image processing tools. Our registered contact for privacy matters is privacy@docuverse.tools.
2. The Core Privacy Guarantee: Client-Side Processing
Every tool on DocuVerse — including PDF merging, image compression, OCR text extraction, and all others — runs 100% inside your web browser. Your files are processed by your own device's CPU using WebAssembly technology.
- Your files are never uploaded to our servers.
- Your files are never transmitted over the internet.
- Your files are never stored anywhere outside your device.
- We have no technical ability to access the content of any file you process.
When you download the result, that file is generated directly in your browser and saved to your local computer. No round-trip to a server occurs at any point.
3. What Information We Do Collect
We collect minimal, non-personal information to operate the website:
3.1 Server Log Data (Automatic)
Like all websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard server access data when you visit:
- IP address (anonymized after 24 hours)
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Pages visited and time of visit
- Referring URL
This data is used solely for security, uptime monitoring, and aggregate traffic analysis. It is never linked to your identity or sold.
3.2 Analytics (Aggregate Only)
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which tools are most useful. We measure page views, session duration, and geographic region (country-level only). No individual user tracking, no cross-site tracking, and no fingerprinting.
3.3 Cookies
We use only essential functional cookies required for the website to work (e.g., your preferences within a tool session). We do not use advertising tracking cookies or third-party behavioral cookies without your explicit consent.
4. Google AdSense & Advertising
DocuVerse displays advertisements served by Google AdSense and other ad networks to fund the free service. These networks may use cookies to serve ads relevant to your interests based on your browsing history across other websites.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or by using the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out.
Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
5. Third-Party Services
DocuVerse is designed with strict offline-first, client-only architecture. All processing (PDF parsing, OCR, image compression) happens completely locally in your browser using locally-served WebAssembly libraries. Your files never leave your device, and no third-party CDNs are used for tool execution.
6. Children's Privacy
DocuVerse does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at privacy@docuverse.tools and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:
- Access: Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Deletion: Request deletion of any personal data we hold.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Objection: Object to processing of your data for certain purposes.
- Data Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Because we collect no personal data tied to file processing, most requests will be answered by confirming that no such data exists. To exercise any right, email privacy@docuverse.tools.
8. Data Security
Because your files never leave your browser, the primary security of your file content rests with your own device. Our website is served over HTTPS with modern TLS. We apply industry-standard security measures to our web infrastructure.
9. International Users
Our servers are located in the United States. If you are accessing the service from outside the United States, be aware that your connection data (IP address, browser info) may be processed in the United States. By using the service, you consent to this transfer.
For EU/EEA Users (GDPR): Our legal basis for processing server log data is Legitimate Interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) for security and uptime. You have the rights described in Section 7 above.
For California Users (CCPA): We do not sell your personal information. You have the right to know what data we collect and to request its deletion.
For Indian Users (DPDP Act): We process only technical data necessary to provide the service. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in Section 4 (advertising) and Section 5 (CDNs).
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
